Basketball Recap: Norman Thomas' Win on Sunday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Norman Thomas didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on EBC/Bushwick with a sharp 69-46 win on Sunday. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Norman Thomas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Taylor, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Taylor's afternoon made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Xavier Joaquin, who went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points along with seven assists and six boards.

The victory was the third in a row for Norman Thomas, bringing their record for this year to 6-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.3 points per game. As for EBC/Bushwick, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Norman Thomas will venture away from home to challenge Stuyvesant at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for EBC/Bushwick, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against A-Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
