Wylie East waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Rowlett Eagles a 5-0 shutout. Give the Raiders' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Not much got past Isabella Flores, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Rowlett off the board. Those ten strikeouts gave Flores a new career-high.

At the plate, Wylie East saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Poovey, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Wylie East's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Rowlett, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11-1 record this season.

Wylie East is taking a road trip to challenge Garland at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Wylie East 3, Garland 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Rowlett, they will take on North Garland at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. North Garland has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.12 runs per game on average), something Rowlett will no doubt try to take advantage of.
