Baseball Game Preview: Aurora Greenmen vs. North Royalton Bears

The Aurora Greenmen are taking a road trip to challenge the North Royalton Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Aurora is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Aurora didn't have quite enough to beat Independence and fell 3-2.

Tommy Hach was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Brady Carlson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, while North Royalton put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Stow-Munroe Falls. The Bears came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 1-0. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Antonio Escano was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Escano wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sam Kortan, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

The win got North Royalton back to even at 10-10. As for Aurora, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.

Aurora skirted past North Royalton 4-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2015. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greenmen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
