Basketball Game Preview: Dodge County Indians vs. Washington County Golden Hawks

Dodge County and Washington County are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Dodge County Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Washington County Golden Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Dodge County, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Dodge County turned things around against Northeast on Monday. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 65-57.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Washington County's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 56-49 to East Laurens.

Dodge County will need focus on slowing down Jade Kitchens, one of several Washington County players who made an impact when they last played. She went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points along with five assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Emmya Gamble, who posted seven points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Washington County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matches.

The victory got Dodge County back to even at 9-9. As for Washington County, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4.
