Softball Recap: Northgate Wins Going Away Against Las Lomas

Northgate had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 6-7 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Las Lomas Knights as they made off with a 15-0 win. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.

Mackenzie Hudson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Northgate let Taelyn Jriyasetapong and Addison Baxter run wild. Jriyasetapong went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Baxter went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jriyasetapong has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Stella Hanko, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Northgate kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

As for Las Lomas, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On Las Lomas' side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Milla Hansen, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Northgate didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-11 defeat against Acalanes on the 22nd. As for Las Lomas, they have also already played their next match, a 27-1 victory against Mt. Diablo on the 22nd.
