Volleyball Recap: Simpson Academy Comes Up Short

Simpson Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Lamar Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Thursday.

The final score came out to 25-6, 25-11, 25-8.

Lamar was led to victory by Olivia Miles and Rylee Schimelpfening. Miles had 12 digs and seven aces, while Schimelpfening had seven digs and six kills. Schimelpfening is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 33 games she's played dating back to last season.

Simpson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Lamar, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Simpson Academy will venture away from home to face off against Jackson Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lamar, they will welcome Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
