Basketball Game Preview: Shirley Blue Devils vs. Rose Bud Ramblers

The Shirley Blue Devils and the Rose Bud Ramblers will round out the year against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Shirley has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 14.

Last Thursday, Shirley took a blow against Norfork, falling 66-19. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Panthers are ranked 97th).

Meanwhile, Rose Bud suffered their biggest defeat since January 24th last Thursday. They were beaten by Episcopal 68-28. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Ramblers' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Shirley's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Rose Bud, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Shirley was dealt a bruising 71-38 loss at the hands of Rose Bud in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
