Basketball Recap: Stratford Takes a Loss

Stratford was the 70-39 winner over Konawa when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Stratford Bulldogs were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 53-52 to the Konawa Tigers. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Stratford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Oliver Smithwick went 6-for-11 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Trevor Wood, who posted 11 points.

Stratford's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Konawa, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14.

Coming up, Stratford will challenge Preston at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Preston will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Stratford surely won't give up without a fight. Konawa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
