Football Recap: Rabun County Wildcats vs. Fannin County Rebels

Rabun County got themselves on the board against Fannin County on Friday, but Fannin County never followed suit. They blew past the Rebels, posting a 35-0 victory. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Rebels are ranked 211th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rabun County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reid Giles, who rushed for 83 yards and two TDs on only seven carries, and also picked up 95 receiving yards. Lake Evans helped out on the ground, rushing for 108 yards and a rushing touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rabun County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 215 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 158 rushing yards in 11 consecutive matches dating back to last season.
