Soccer Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Botkins' Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Botkins took a six-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Greenon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Tuesday. Botkins' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Melena Monnin, who's now up to six this season.

Botkins has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season. As for Greenon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5-2.

Looking ahead, Botkins will square off against Spencerville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greenon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairbanks at 5:30 p.m. on October 2.
