Tilden falls despite strong effort from Jayvion Banks

Recap: Tilden Blue Devils vs. DuSable Panthers

The Tilden Blue Devils were the 57-54 winner over the DuSable Panthers when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Tilden was dealt a 63-29 defeat at the hands of DuSable on Tuesday. Tilden has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Tilden lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayvion Banks. Despite the final result, he scored seven points along with five rebounds.

Leading DuSable to victory were Ave'Veyon Watkins and Patrick Malone. Watkins scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Malone scored 23 points. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendell Shepard, who scored eight points.

Tilden's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for DuSable, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tilden will square off against Back of the Yards College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Back of the Yards College Prep is ranked 667th, while Tilden is ranked 646th). As for DuSable, they will head out on the road to face off against Instituto Health Sciences at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Instituto Health Sciences comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
