Baseball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North lost against Simley back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Polars took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans.

Tyler Shaw was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Dustin Schuldt, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

North's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Simley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. North is set to square off against their familiar foe Hill-Murray at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for the Polars: they have been struggling with 12 straight losses at home dating back to last season, while the Pioneers have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. Meanwhile, Simley will take on rival Two Rivers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 2.8, the Warriors 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
