Basketball Game Preview: Costa Mesa Mustangs vs. Savanna Rebels

The Costa Mesa Mustangs will take on the Savanna Rebels in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Costa Mesa put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 71-55 to Estancia. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 18-13 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Savanna came up short against Valley View on Friday and fell 63-56. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Savanna's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Costa Mesa, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Costa Mesa came out on top in a nail-biter against Savanna in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, sneaking past 44-42. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
