Basketball Game Preview: Sioux City North Stars vs. Sioux City East Black Raiders

Sioux City North is 0-10 against Sioux City East since December of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Sioux City North Stars will head out on the road to take on the Sioux City East Black Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Sioux City North will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Sergeant Bluff-Luton, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Sioux City North breezed past Sergeant Bluff-Luton to the tune of 63-24 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Sioux City East had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They strolled past the Rockets with points to spare, taking the game 60-42. 60 seems to be a good number for the Black Raiders as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Sioux City East pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points over those games. As for Sioux City North, their win bumped their record up to 3-12.

Sioux City North took a serious blow against Sioux City East in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 79-17. Can Sioux City North avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
