Basketball Recap: Covington Takes a Loss

Covington played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 84-38 loss at the hands of the Clinton Prairie Gophers. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-21.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Max Waddell, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Landon Herzog, who put up eight points.

Covington's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Clinton Prairie, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Covington is taking a road trip to take on South Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on February 22nd. As for Clinton Prairie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
