Softball Recap: Moniteau Find Success

Moniteau's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Rocky Grove Orioles.

Lexi Mcghee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Halle Beatty was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sydney Dematteis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Moniteau now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Rocky Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-14.

As of now, neither Moniteau nor the Orioles have any future games scheduled.
