Breanna Pacheco and Vanessa Taylor did most of the damage at the plate: Pacheco scored three runs and stole eight bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances, while Taylor scored six runs and stole six bases while getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances. The C-Hawks have beaten the Cougars the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cougars has come to flipping the script.
Cailin Schroeder made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, California Lutheran got a massive performance out of Sofia Klochkova, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Emily French, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5.
