Soccer Recap: Hudsonville Takes a Loss

Hudsonville lost against Rockford back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Rams by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Hudsonville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Rockford are ranked eighth).

This is the second loss in a row for Hudsonville and nudges their season record down to 5-7-1. As for Rockford, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hudsonville will challenge rival East Kentwood at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rockford is set to face off against their familiar foe Grandville at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Rockford's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Grandville have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
