Basketball Recap: Emma Brown Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Cedar Bluffs

High Plains won the last time they faced Cedar Bluffs and things went their way on Saturday too. The High Plains Storm came out on top against the Cedar Bluffs Wildcats by a score of 37-30.

High Plains got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Brown out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Brown is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gahvrielle Lesiak, who posted eight points and six steals.

High Plains smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The win got High Plains back to even at 4-4. As for Cedar Bluffs, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Shelby-Rising City the next time they take the court. Cedar Bluffs will head out to face Shelby-Rising City at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, while High Plains will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
