Softball Recap: Elmira Takes a Loss

Elmira suffered their biggest loss since April 27, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 16-3 to the Corning-Painted Post Hawks. The Express haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Elmira saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Smith, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Elmira now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Corning-Painted Post, the win was the sixth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Elmira is taking a road trip to face off against Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Corning-Painted Post, they will be taking part in a tournament against Langley at 8:00 a.m. on Monday.
