Basketball Recap: Jelissa Anderson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Tampa Christian Academy over Bell Creek Academy

If North Tampa Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 61-13 takedown of Sports Leadership & Management last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The North Tampa Christian Academy Titans fell just short of the Bell Creek Academy Panthers by a score of 51-49 on Monday. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

North Tampa Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jelissa Anderson, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Bone, who posted 12 points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Bell Creek Academy found their leader in sophomore Jaslyn Easley, who put up 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Easley has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Natalia Long, who had 11 points.

North Tampa Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bell Creek Academy, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3.

North Tampa Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-43 victory against River Ridge on the 5th. As for Bell Creek Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-45 win against Palm Harbor University on the 4th.
