The Sarasota Christian Blazers will head out on the road to challenge the Keswick Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sarasota Christian will be strutting in after a win while Keswick Christian will be coming in after a loss.
Sarasota Christian is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Babcock: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Blazers blew the Trailblazers out of the water with a 42-0 final score. The Blazers pushed the score to 35-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trailblazers had no chance of recovering from.

A big part of Sarasota Christian's victory came down to the chemistry between Ben Milliken and his top target Travis Miller. Milliken threw for 249 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Miller gained 78 total yards and two touchdowns. Milliken's passing game has become a key predictor of Sarasota Christian's success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Collin Lawson was in the mix as well, providing the Blazers with one score.
One reason for the win was Sarasota Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Gavin Martens was the leader with two. Sarasota Christian received some extra help from Lawson, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Despite a strong season so far, Keswick Christian has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They fell 15-6 to Southwest Florida Christian on Friday. The contest was a 6-6 toss-up at halftime, but the Crusaders couldn't quite close it out.
Keswick Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nate Austin and Grant Cook. Keswick Christian got some further help from Caleb Nordenbrook: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 19 total tackles.
The win made it two in a row for Sarasota Christian and bumps their season record up to 5-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points over those games. As for Keswick Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Sarasota Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Keswick Christian when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 37-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blazers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
