Volleyball Recap: Verona Takes a Loss

Verona extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 6-15-2. They lost 3-0 to the Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered against the Cavaliers since October 5, 2023.

As for Jefferson Independent Day, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-7-3. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 25th (when they won 3-0).

Soha Shaikh was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 21 digs. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Verona will venture away from home to take on Greenfield at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Jefferson Independent Day, they will head out to square off against Liberal at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
