Basketball Recap: Edgewood Takes a Loss

Edgewood and Foundation Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Edgewood had to settle for second. They fell 33-26 to the Foundation Academy Lions. The Red Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Foundation Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Parker, who posted eight points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards gave Parker a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Holloman, who had four points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.

Edgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Foundation Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Edgewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Foundation Academy, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy comes in on seven and Foundation Academy on five.
