Baseball Recap: Belleville East Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Belleville East's offense. They fell just short of the Columbia Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Lancers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Belleville East got a good showing from Logan Faust, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Faust has allowed since back in May of 2024.

Belleville East's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Columbia, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belleville East will take on Centralia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Columbia, they will challenge Marquette Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Explorers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
