Basketball Recap: Jenna Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead River Bluff over Denmark-Olar

River Bluff lost against Denmark-Olar last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The River Bluff Gators lost to the Denmark-Olar Vikings at home by a 52-35 margin.

River Bluff lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jenna Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Johnson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Rilee Bleakley was another key player, putting up seven points.

Denmark-Olar was led to victory by Kalen Mayes and Aveion Walker. Mayes posted 14 points and four steals, while Walker dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Joy Johnson, who put up six points and three steals.

River Bluff's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Denmark-Olar, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

River Bluff has already played their next matchup, a 61-18 defeat against White Knoll on the 9th. As for Denmark-Olar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-19 win against Allendale-Fairfax on the 14th.
