Basketball Recap: Hiwassee Dam Piles Up the Points Against Macon Early College

A well-balanced attack led Hiwassee Dam over Macon Early College in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Foxes out of the water with a 72-18 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-13.

Macon Early College lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lexy McLennan, who posted six points.

The victory got Hiwassee Dam back to even at 1-1. As for Macon Early College, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Hiwassee Dam will square off against Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Macon Early College, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Blue Ridge Early College at 6:00 p.m. on January 22, 2026.
