Basketball Recap: Eastbrook Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eastbrook can now relate to. They took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wapahani Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-36 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Eastbrook lost on Friday, don't look at Mia Bustos. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. Bustos is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 20 games she's played. Jazmine Plummer was another key player, going 5 for 8 to rack up 10 points.

Even though they lost, Eastbrook smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Eastbrook's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Wapahani, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-4.

Eastbrook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wapahani, they have already played their next contest, a 54-23 defeat against Alexandria-Monroe on the 8th.
