The Chino Hills Huskies will take on the Saugus Centurions in a tournament on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chino Hills' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against Notre Dame (SO) by a score of 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Not much got past Lily Stopani, who gave up just six hits to keep Notre Dame (SO) off the board. What's more, Stopani posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Chino Hills saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Lambrecht, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Lambrecht also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Saugus put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over Camarillo. The Centurions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kona Ramsbottom looked comfortable as she pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-low in hits.
At the plate, Saugus let Brianna Garcia and Jordan Shepherd run wild. Garcia scored three runs while going 2-for-4, while Shepherd scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Luci Curiel was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Chino Hills' record now sits at 4-2. As for Saugus, their record is now 4-0.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Chino Hills hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Saugus struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Chino Hills' way against Saugus in their previous meeting back in May of 2022, as Chino Hills made off with a 9-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chino Hills since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
