Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Boothbay

Boothbay lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Oak Hill, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's match. The Seahawks never let the Raiders get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Seahawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Liam Jacobs was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Boothbay is 3-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 4-7 otherwise. Jacobs was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Sam Markowitz was excellent, earning two RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases. He has become a key player for Boothbay: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Maddox Cusumano was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Boothbay pushed their record up to 7-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Oak Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Boothbay didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-5 defeat against Madison on the 2nd. As for Oak Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-2 loss against Monmouth Academy on the 2nd.
