Volleyball Recap: Pleasant Grove Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Lexi Brown and Dixie Werner

If Pleasant Grove was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Payson last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings fell just short of the Timpview Thunderbirds by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Pleasant Grove ultimately came up short, they really made Timpview work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-10, 26-24, 17-25, 16-25, 15-7.

Despite the loss, Pleasant Grove had strong showings from Dixie Werner, who had 11 digs and two aces, and Lexi Brown, who had seven digs and one assist.

Pleasant Grove's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-9. As for Timpview, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Pleasant Grove has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Spanish Fork on the 18th. As for Timpview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Wasatch on the 18th.
