Recap: Wharton Tigers vs. Navasota Rattlers
The Wharton Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 56-49 to Navasota. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wharton in their matchups with Navasota: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacoryan Dickerson, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Angell Gaona, Jr. was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds.
Wharton has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Navasota, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Wharton will head out on the road to face off against Needville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Needville is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Navasota, they will be playing at home against El Campo at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
