Softball Preview: Riverton Rams vs. Baxter Springs Lions

In other batting news, Avery Barnett was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Marlee North, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Baxter Springs came into Monday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged St. Mary's-Colgan out 7-6. The win was just what Baxter Springs needed coming off of a 6-0 defeat in their prior matchup.

Riverton's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-7. As for Baxter Springs, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-1.
