Baseball Recap: Elizabeth Wins Going Away Against Pueblo Centennial

Elizabeth was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Pueblo Centennial on Monday. The Cardinals blew past the Bulldogs 9-1. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Trevor Bertsch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Bertsch was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brody Aldridge was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Cole Robinson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Elizabeth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pueblo Centennial only managed six hits.

Elizabeth's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Pueblo Centennial, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Elizabeth didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-2 loss against Falcon on the 8th. As for Pueblo Centennial, they have also already played their next matchup, a 20-8 defeat against La Junta on the 2nd.
