Football Recap: Red Bay Extends Winning Streak to Three

Red Bay extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 4-1. Everything went their way against the Belmont Cardinals as they made off with a 42-22 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jaxon Vinson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 192 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Vinson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 121 every time he's taken the field this season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Red Bay was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 248 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Belmont fell to 4-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Despite the loss, Belmont still got an impressive performance from Kylei Estes, who rushed for 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Coming up, Red Bay will be playing in front of their home fans against Tupelo Christian Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Vinson and Micaiah Young. As for Belmont, they will head out on the road to challenge Alcorn Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
