Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cobre). Everything went their way against the Socorro Warriors on Saturday as they made off with a 22-1 win. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Bella Saiz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Cobre got a massive performance out of Madi Tellez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave Tellez a new career-high. Ayvah Ortiz was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Cobre was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .769. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .500 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Cobre pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Socorro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Cobre will have a chance to go back-to-back against Socorro: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
