Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cobre). Everything went their way against the Socorro Warriors on Saturday as they made off with a 22-1 win. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Bella Saiz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Cobre got a massive performance out of Madi Tellez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave Tellez a new career-high. Ayvah Ortiz was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
