Recap: Cedaredge Bruins vs. Grand Valley Cardinals
The Cedaredge Bruins were the 54-45 winner over the Grand Valley Cardinals when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Cedaredge fell 62-49 to Grand Valley on Thursday. Cedaredge found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 21 to 8 on offense.
When it comes to explaining why Cedaredge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Luke Maxey. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points. Maxey has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Jacob Bowler was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks.
Porter Ostermiller was the offensive standout of the game as he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Andrew Horner, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Cedaredge's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-8. As for Grand Valley, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedaredge will take on Meeker at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meeker is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. As for Grand Valley, they will be playing at home against North Fork at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully North Fork focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Saturday.
