Plano West came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Prosper Eagles. The Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Marlee Flanigan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Abby Cuellar was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Andrea Carrillo, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Plano West's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Prosper, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.

Coincidentally, Plano West and Prosper will both be playing McKinney Boyd the next time they take the field. Plano West will host McKinney Boyd at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Prosper will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
