Rockmart starts season with victory on the road

Recap: Rockmart vs. Bowdon
The Rockmart Yellowjackets had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their defense stepped up to hand Bowdon a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. After a 8-0 finish the last time they played, Rockmart and Bowdon decided to play a little more cautiously this time around.
Rockmart was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Sierra Alonso and
Makayla Fortenberry, who scored both of Rockmart's goals.
Rockmart will be playing at home against North Murray at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bowdon, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mt. Zion at 5:30 p.m. on February 27th.
