It was a good run, but Blue Valley North unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Blue Valley North sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 21-25, 25-10.

Reese Maslowski paced Blue Valley North's offense, picking up nine kills. Maslowski got some help from Louise Wombolt and her ten assists. Finally, Tatum Schroering kept Blue Valley North's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Saint Thomas Aquinas was led to victory by Malin Chaput and Alayna Vaeth. Chaput had ten digs and one assist, while Vaeth hit 100% for six kills and 23 assists and five digs. That's the most kills Vaeth has posted since back in October of 2024.

Blue Valley North's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Saint Thomas Aquinas, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Blue Valley North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Blue Valley on the 16th. Saint Thomas Aquinas has also already played their next game (against Liberty North), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
