It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Baker had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Bryant Hurricanes as they made off with a 12-2 win. Considering the Hornets have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaylee Boddie and Nola Havard did most of the damage at the plate: Boddie got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Havard went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Havard has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Peterson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Baker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bryant only posted a batting average of .118.
Baker is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bryant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-22.
As of now, neither Baker nor the Hurricanes have any future games scheduled.
