Softball Recap: Trenton Wins Going Away Against West Port

Trenton won the last time they faced West Port and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers blew past the Wolf Pack 11-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Presley Akins was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Weaver, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Trenton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive games.

Trenton's record is now 11-6. As for West Port, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trenton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Taylor County at 5:30 p.m. on the 21st. As for West Port, they will challenge Dunnellon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
