A spectacular five-overtime game finished in spectacular fashion.

In a driving rain in Washington D.C., St. John's (Washington, District of Columbia) four-star junior receiver Rakim Jarrett hauled in his third touchdown of the game from Sol-Jay Maiava, this a three-tip, run-off, 25-yard catch to himself, lifting the fourth-ranked Cadets to a thrilling 37-34 victory over No. 11 Central (Miami, Fla.)

Central, which forced an initial overtime with a last-second touchdown catch and two-point conversion reception by Lexington Joseph, had taken a 34-31 lead on the fourth field goal by freshman Jayden John, this one a 30-yarder that just crossed the bar.

On the first play from the Central 25, Maiava went back under great protection and overthrew the wide open Jarrett, who reached up and tipped the ball once, twice and then pulled it in before sprinting untouched the last five yards into the end zone, setting off a wild home celebration.

The game lasted 3 hours, 45 minutes.

The contest keeps national championship hopes alive for St. John's, which faces No. 5 IMG Academy next week. This was the second of a vicious three-week run for the Cadets after going to Alabama and beating then nationally-ranked Hoover 42-14.

St. John's played without five-star Alabama running back Keilan Robinson for a second straight week for undisclosed reasons and four-star linebacker Mekhail Sherman, who went out in the first quarter with an injury.
