Baseball Recap: Capistrano Valley Takes a Loss

Capistrano Valley suffered their biggest loss since March 22, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against the Aliso Niguel Wolverines, falling 9-1. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Charlie Fuller was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Capistrano Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Stewart, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Capistrano Valley now has a losing record of 9-10-1. As for Aliso Niguel, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-5.

While Capistrano Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
