Football Recap: Bryson Durst Leads North Star's Defense on Friday

After soaring to 35 points the game before, North Star was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 26-6 to the Juniata Valley Hornets. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

North Star didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Bryson Durst.

Juniata Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Clark, who rushed for 64 yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, Clark posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Gavin Smith also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.

North Star's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Juniata Valley, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Star will face off against Meyersdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Juniata Valley, they will take on Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
