Baseball Recap: Russell Wins Going Away Against Sylvan-Lucas

There's no place like home for Russell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs a 13-0 shutout on Tuesday. That looming 13-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Broncos yet this season.

Max Evans and Sam Thielen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Evans pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Thielen tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Russell is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-6 otherwise. At bat, Evans went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI, while Thielen went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
