Softball Recap: Normal University Takes a Loss

After flying high against Kaneland on Saturday, Normal University came back down to earth. The Pioneers lost 15-6 to the Geneseo Maple Leafs on Saturday.

Ryan Coombs made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendyl Schroeder, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Normal University's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Geneseo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Normal University is taking a road trip to face off against Jacksonville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Geneseo, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Quincy at 4:30 p.m.
