Volleyball Recap: Legacy Athletics Comes Up Short

Legacy Athletics managed to slip by Heritage Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Stallions lost 3-0 to the Eagles on Thursday. The Stallions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Legacy Athletics was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Heritage Christian's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-18, 25-20.

Julie Layaou paced Legacy Athletics' offense, picking up eight kills. Layaou got some help from Maci Siceloff and her nine assists. Layaou was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Legacy Athletics' defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Heritage Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.

Legacy Athletics will venture away from home to square off against Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against UR Academy on the 26th.
