Volleyball Game Preview: Coronado Cougars vs. Arbor View Aggies

Coronado is a perfect 8-0 against Arbor View since August of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Cougars will face off against the Aggies at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Coronado sitting on three straight victories and Arbor View on 15.

Coronado is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Palo Verde.

Coronado walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 27-29, 25-22, 26-24.

Among those leading the charge was ISABELLE GUERZON, who had 29 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game. NAKISA FRIEDMAN was another key player, getting 17 digs.

Meanwhile, Arbor View faced Foothill in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Aggies came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 3-1.

The win didn't come easy: Foothill scored at least 22 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23.

Coronado's victory bumped their record up to 24-9. As for Arbor View, their win bumped their record up to 30-6.

Coronado beat Arbor View 3-1 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
