Coalfield entered their tilt with Oliver Springs on Friday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Bobcats 48-7. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Yellow Jackets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Bobcats are ranked 239th).

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Hadyn Headrick and Jaiden Bunch. Headrick rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries while Bunch rushed for 124 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Headrick a new career-high.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Coalfield proved: they limited Oliver Springs to a paltry three yards per carry. The Yellow Jackets didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.3.

Coalfield's record now sits at 8-2. As for Oliver Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Coalfield and Oliver Springs are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Yellow Jackets will face off against Cloudland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Coalfield will be up against the Highlanders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Oliver Springs, they will head out on the road to square off against North Greene at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will need to watch out since the Huskies have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
